AEON reading for 2024
My annual reading always starts with me selecting a card that represents a topic that I wish to explore. This year I am selecting Anthropos (mankind) as the foundational card. The reason for this choice is that last year's reading ended with Nous (mind) and I want to know how our shift in mindset will manifest into new actions and behaviors. Anthropos is the card of our physical and primal being; the perfect, unified human (both male and female); a physical manifestation of G

A review of my 2023 reading.
Bull and Dove Illustration by Bill Hallinan As the winter equinox passed, I was reminded of this photo of our bedroom window and an image of the bull and dove, done by my friend Bill Hallinan. The bull is the Apis bull or Isis and the dove the bird of Ishtar. The Apis bull is the solar bull, the representation of the fertility of the soil and pro-creative power. The dove, which in Ancient Greek is per-isterá which literally means, the bird of Ishtar, and is associated with

AEON reading for 2023
On review of my reading for 2022 , I can see that I have much to learn in reading the Aeons. There was a powerful and strong message in last year's cards but in communicating it, I layered on a lot of my own agenda- specifically, some of the work that I'm doing at Acumen, that is pushing for a radical transition of the business world. When you strip away my own desire for "urgent transformation" the message in the cards last year was very clear. A consequence of the isolatio

AEON reading for 2022.
My most read posts for the AEON cards are undoubtedly the annual card reading. The popularity of these readings exploded after the first reading in 2020 predicted the global pandemic and the unexpected disruption we all experienced. You can read the 2020 reading here . It's also worth reviewing the 2021 reading , which was less dramatic than it's predecessor, but has some really great insights into the new dynamics of the post-covid world. So, on this New Year's Day, I

How can I not. Last years reading on January 2nd 2020 was prescient to say the least. On re-reading it again today, there's even more there than I realized - gems like: "This collectivism brings an interesting shift for 2020, one that suggests we need to align on the things we all want to see in the world, rather than focus on the things benefit us personally and individually. " "...the imbalance already exists, and it is our job to rectify it. No good hoping it will al

AEON reading for 2020
(This post was originally posted on the Nockwood Medium page on January 2nd 2020. Reproduced here for reference.) I decided to use the new AEON cards to do a reading for 2020. This deck is based on the Aeonology of ancient Gnostic texts. I chose the 6 card reading because this was a specific topic that I wished to explore. The first card in the spread was selected by me to represent the subject. ELPIS (Hope) represents future, unrevealed truths and inner development. This ca
